Chat2Editing for macOS

Overview

Chat2Editing is a macOS video editing assistant that processes all your data locally on your device. Your privacy is our top priority.

Data Collection

Chat2Editing does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. All processing — including video playback, speech transcription, speaker identification, and AI-powered chat — happens entirely on your Mac.

On-Device Processing

• Transcription: Speech-to-text is performed on your device using downloaded machine learning models. Your audio never leaves your Mac.
• Speaker Identification: Speaker diarization runs locally on your device.
• AI Chat: Conversational AI is powered by Apple Intelligence (on-device). No data is sent to external servers.
• Media Files: All imported video, audio, and image files remain on your local storage. They are never uploaded anywhere.

Network Activity

Chat2Editing requires an internet connection only for:

• Initial model download: On first use, speech recognition and speaker identification models are downloaded from Hugging Face (huggingface.co). This is a one-time download. No user data is transmitted during this process.

After the initial setup, Chat2Editing works fully offline.

Third-Party Services

Chat2Editing does not integrate with any analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking services.

Data Storage

All application data (projects, transcriptions, chat history) is stored locally in your Mac's application container using Apple's SwiftData framework. No cloud sync or backup to external servers is performed.

Children's Privacy

Chat2Editing does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13.
